C. S. Lewis said something to the effect that Christians set their sights too low, which is why we are not joyful and thankful (I’m butchering this). I think this is true with living the Christian life, as well. We look at our fellow Christians and think if we are living a little better than most, we’ve done enough. As a pastor, I confess the sin of preparing just enough to stay ahead of my people, not to the best of my ability. Whereas, Scripturally, if we keep all of the Law and the Prophets, we will mererly have done what was required of us — no back slaps and high-fives…
